I'm sorry for leaving you behind,

and putting you in the back of my mind.

I'm sorry for not giving you a chance,

but this isn't a fairytale where we just play and dance.

 

I didn't mean to push you so far,

I'm just trying to hide all these scars.

My heart's getting heavier,

my breath is getting shorter,

and all you do is sit there pulling me closer and closer.

 

I can't play these games any more,

and it's just not the same as before,

So why do you do it?,

When you know I'll just push you away,

and yet you still don't see how I am at the end of each day.

 

I'm drowning in tears,

while you just sit and watch,

but still no one watches the clock,

hours going by,

minutes being wasted,

seconds slipping fast,

and I still can't take it.

 

Life isn't all fun and games,

but yet you sit there and treat it that way.

I don't want to let you go,

but I'm just not as strong as before.

 

Please try to understand,

I don't like being under any one's command.

I'm not like the others who just sit and wounder,

I'm a dreamer who likes to pounder.
