HamsterA Poem by KaylaI'm solemnly sitting In my cage, Slowly growing Old with age. You won't hold me. I'm never chosen To be in those large hands; I'm frozen, Shivering with anxiety.
I'd rather stay here Than be put in a ball To explore Outside these caged walls. But in staying, I'm miserable.
Can't you just be gentle? I know I'm not cute as Other small pets are; Therefore, I'm passed, Never given a chance To prove to you That I'm better.
Come play with me. I won't bite. I'll nuzzle close. Just stay, despite The others in the store. I'm the one that's yours. Just hold me. © 2012 KaylaFeatured ReviewReviews
