Sensory Deprivation

Sensory Deprivation

A Poem by Kaylee Marie
"

I've done only a small bit of research, so it's probably a bit far-fetched.

"

Into the chamber they lead me

Tell me to sit.

The door is wide open

The light is flooding into the room

They say goodbye

They say the test will be over soon

They escape out the door

They close it tight

Lock it

And now it’s dark

Too dark to see

An inch in front of me

The room is silent

Soundproof.

It dawns on me I’m all alone

The hours tick by-

Or are they days?

Seconds, they could be.

I feel my mind wander away.

What’s that?

What’s that?!

In this damning darkness!

Snakes?

Spiders?

Crawling from under my chair!

I scream

The walls eat up my noise.

Louder and louder I scream

Hoping some one can hear me

A few more days

Or years?

They pass by

And the door opens again

I’m laying on the floor

Hardly even skin and bones.

And only now do I realize I’ve died.

Not sure about the second to last line, so I would love feedback on that. Again, only slightly researched...

This reminds me of a near death experience, I like it. There is fear in this poem and a vivid description of pain and anguish. nicely written.
