I missed you today

I saw a boy and his dad

On their way to a baseball game

And I wondered

Maybe that could have been us

I go to games

And even watch football now

But you don't know that

And that

I miss

Maybe I could hang with you

On Saturday nights

When mom is tired

And all my friends are busy

But you can't take me

And that

I miss

Years have passed

The world continues on

I have achieved and failed

Wishing to share this all

But I can't

And that

I miss

that's sad, but so sweet at the same time. I can relate in some ways. My parents divorced when I was six, and since then I have not had any close ties with my father. And sometimes you look at a father and daughter an you wonder, what if? what if?

I gather that you are speaking of your father who passed away. I can relate to those feelings of lost, My mothers' been gone for over 16 years and I miss her every day.
