Consumed

By grief and pain

Confusion and doubt

Anger and loneliness

The walls are caving

And I can't breathe

Longing to be far

Under a gray sky

Dodging rain drops

I've had days like this

But I thought they were long gone

Bits of happiness keep me grounded

Stamp out the pain long enough

For me to last another minute

Another hour

Another day has come

And life begins again

What will it bring today

I hope something better

Than the day before

I get a person either sad or fighting an addiction most of the time they are winning the battle. but every now and then the pain comes back and they have to deal with it never giving up hope. Nicely done.
