Sweet Torture

Sweet Torture

A Poem by Bookworm1223

What sweet torture your presence is
Close by yet distant
Mine yet not
What if you were mine?
What then?
Then the end
Ruination
Reputation
It's all I have
To have you
Exciting
Dangerous
Thrilling
You are worthy
But you are not worth it
To gain you would be to lose myself
To work for you would be to lose the work I've done for myself
I want you
The curve of your lips
The flash of your eyes
A warmth in my hips
An ache in my heart
You are worthy
But you are not worth it
I suppose masochism must be it's own reward
I'll torture myself with you
Close enough
To touch
To taste
But my hands will stay to myself
Do my eyes betray me?
Can you read my thoughts?
If you could
You would know
What sweet torture your presence is
