I See Dead PeopleA Story by Kels-AceLook deeper...An indistinct afternoon and the shopping mall is buzzing. Everywhere people are scurrying about; little ants on a mission to impress their Queen. A warm hand brushes against mine unintentionally, the touch a contradiction to the cold sight of him. Weary eyes dip in an apology - it's not really meant, but the insincerity can be forgiven considering he looks like a wight. The brief encounter causes me to pause and take in my surroundings and I am met with a rather pitiful scene: the illusion of energy and animation blankets the deeper fatigue, burden, and stress of this human hive I find myself in. A subtle sigh of crippling work, a silent wilt of more debt, a hidden slump of just another failed relationship. The quiet signs of despair scream at me. How can they not see it? ...How do you expect the Dead to see each other. © 2015 Kels-Ace |
