O
Look for old books tools for monks or schools not throngs of morons or fools
Books of logs, songs, or plots so good for both lords of gold crowns, poor folk, or
common crowds. Short books for cool schoolboys Long plots for old croons.
Books of doom or gloom Of hollows or ghosts who morph, roll, or stomp on tombs To spook Boys not grown too old
Books of Lord God of monk’s cloth smocks fond of bold, non-stock fonts Words of comfort, joy, or Sorrow soon forgot.
Cookbooks for moms or pops To cook bowls of food Cow, pork, or fowl Good hot or cold For spoon or fork
Books of old, long plots told to tots. Of swords, trolls Worts, orcs Gowns, crowns Hoods, moors.
Books of booms, shots, bombs, crooks. Tom blows down doors robs from shops Holds lots of loot worth tons of gold Two pro cops Don Johnson, Otto Goodson both born for bold jobs Shoot for Tom Tom bolts down blocks Two cops shoot Tom down. Tom folds, scowls, howls Blood drops down to forms pools of color. Shows boys How not to do wrong.
Books for long, slow morns Crows roost on tops of corn crops Honk to mock dogs who howl for
moon. Horn owls hooting from wood lofts Frogs hop from pond to pond Hogs root for rows of slop Tocks of clocks from old rooms Moms comb soft, blond locks scold sons who forgot to do
schoolwork
Books of old north woods Spot cods’ food worms on hooks Flocks of storks and loons honk Flown off lochs, pools, or ponds. Fog rolls on top of rock moss Now cold monsoon storm blows snow frost drops onto sod
Strong wolf, fox too, on prowl for Ox or colt Wolf spots short, brown colt who romps on top of wood logs Wolf growls, howls Colt bolts off Wolf swoops onto poor colt Colt’s mom, bronco, trods down onto
wolf knocks wolf’s top Worn wolf trots off. Colt follows mom, ok for now.
Books of cosmos To know how world works from of old. Of Ohms, of volts, shocks Glow from orbs, worlds, odd oblong
forms. Of photons, protons, rows of bonds.
Do not grow too worn to look for old books. Books hold colors, odors, or tools. Worlds form wholly only from words. © 2025 Joshua KepferAuthor's Note
