The Blood Sucker

The Blood Sucker

A Poem by Tabitha Dings
"

Ever been bothered by a mosquito?

"

Buzzing in my ear
I can feel her tiny wings
Batting air tow’rds my senses
Giving me a chill

I know why she comes
To feast on that sweet fluid
And possibly make me ill
Why won’t she just leave?

Soon I feel a bite
Followed by yet another
It burns, it itches, it stings
Can’t I have relief?

Her needle punctures
I watch this time, observing
She draws my blood inside her
Nourishing herself

Should I just slap her?
I’m not sure now, you tell me?
Her mind focused on one thing
Annoyance she gives

Long snout, annoying
Loud sounds, so horribly rude!
Her face twists into a smile
To wish fake blessings

You'd think the little buggers would at least say grace before dining. Bad manners as well. :)

About
I'm normally a rather depressed creature, but I find solace in my son and my writing. Though God has been there through much of my pain, I feel that he gave me my writing for further comfort. I do hop.. more..
