Song Birds (Remake of Blackbirds)

Song Birds (Remake of Blackbirds)

A Poem by Tabitha Dings

Song birds calling as I go

    Onward to the sea

Thinking of Christ's sacrifice

    This feeling inside me

It says, "Oh Heart,

This love how can it be?"

(Chorus)

    It burns so deep

        that my heart weeps

     It cries with passion

         "Oh how can this be?"

Torn between two lives I had

    Stricken from above.

Would I follow sinful paths

Or would I trust God's love?

But in His arms...

Oh this is what should be!

(Chorus again and repeats)

Following neither man nor family is the right course. You have to follow what is right, or you will trail what is wrong. We are only able to live with ourselves if we can rise above who we are and who we want to be. Then from new heights is easy to look back and decide which course was best to take. The other blessing to rising above it all is the closer relation we have to the One with all the answers, God.

These new changes improve the song and give it better direction. I cannot capture a melody to go with it, but I can see how it would easily lend itself to most modern music. I thought I would suggest another line, but I went back and reread, and I believe it stands better by itself. Something haunting, though up-beat, something with violins. Love,
