Whispers beyond time.

Whispers beyond time.

A Poem by Fairy Khan

In the depths of my soul, a whispering call,
What's wrong with me, I wonder, after all?
An emptiness, a yearning, I can't deny,
A nostalgia that haunts, makes me sigh.

What am I missing, in this hollow space,
That fills me with anxiety's embrace?
As if I've cherished what I can't recall,
Lost in a realm of shadows, yearning for all.

Is it the dreams I've yet to chase,
Or the memories that time can't erase?
A yearning for lands I've never seen,
Or the faces of those I've never been.

In this labyrinth of heart and mind,
I seek solace, but solace I can't find.
For the answer eludes, slips from my grasp,
In the whispers of a distant, forgotten past.

Yet onward I press, with courage untold,
Through the mysteries that unfold.
For in this journey, perhaps I'll find,
The peace I seek, the ties that bind.

This is a very strong pledge to keep on keeping on.
We used to do that back in the sixties...don't know if we do it enough now.
I like the way you used rhyme and slant rhyme in this.

Thank you J.
How beautifully you have penned your stanzas Fairy. For what its worth, I call this a void, an emptiness and not knowing why it’s there. I have it myself. Part of the human condition. It is so good to find a post from you. Have a happy Monday.
