Hours and hours keep going by,

I just can’t get you out of my mind,

And why would I,

When you treat me like gold,

I always live so vividly in my mind,

Sometimes, you come and I’ll step aside,

Just watch you walk by,

You’re not there; solidified,

You’re just a wisp of a thought; a little slice of pie,

But I know you’ll be there, and that you’re sick of trying,

It’s just ‘love’ has to wait, and patience plays his game,

Temptations are really hard to take,

But I promise I won’t do you any wrong and I promise,

With all my heart, I promise I won’t do any harm,

To myself,

Because I often do when I’m feeling blue,

Something to do when I know I can’t think of you,

Somethings to say when the day fades away,

“I love you, I miss you and you know I can’t just jump at the drop of a hat,

I can’t hightail all the way to you just because you want me to, I wonder what would happen if I did that,

What would happen if I didn’t come back?”

The clock strikes another hour,

Another hour, 1,000,000,000,000 more thoughts of you flying by,

Catch one; just you try,

I bet you’d just burn a hole in yourself or die from the high.

The last stanza is definitely my favorite, especially the "I bet you'd just burn a hole in yourself or die from the high." It's like they live off of your desperation for them. I'd play around with that stanza and perhaps make it longer.
