In the light

In the light

A Poem by AKhaus

In the light we all cast a shadow.
In the dark we find true meaning.
The sun blinds us while the moon guides us, yet we hide the darkness within.
How can we have two halves and only favor the one?
We are twins at birth but we orphan just that one.
Fear, rejection, pain and neglect are the foods we feed this sister goblin.
Then we wonder why she creeps into our bedrooms at night to fill us with terror.
They say we have two wolves inside us and the one we feed becomes stronger.
Why can't we feed them both and let them live for what they are instead of killing it?
We demonize demons and lift the angels up, we idolize perfection and bury imperfections.
It seems to me the light let's us see the other parts of us that need to be.
If we are one we are also the other.
We are twins, they are both yours, mine, our truths.
