Less than

Less than

A Poem by AKhaus

Why do we decide to take less than?

Our worth measured in the beauty and grace of every movement.

I’m tired of these comparisons when my heart only wishes freedom from the storm.

No treasures lie beneath the sands of your desolate island, only the emptiness of your compassion.

I decided to stay and starve. Then you kindly reminded me that I’m not less than what you have to give.

I get the feeling that a reunion here is not inevitable.
