I wonder why

I sometimes wonder why 

I doubt I'll ever know

Why you fail to understand 

though I care for you so

Your care carries a burden

It leaves a stain

I can't seem to remove the grime

my tears just fall like rain

Even when its plain to see 

my face is not a mask

you pride yourself in causing pain

anguish a perfume in which you bask

you say it will get better

I fear it isn't so 

my discontent is like a tether

it will not let me go
