UNASHAMED HOPE

The time comes when freedom can no longer be contained by fear, and the true identity of a person has to be revealed in spite of the long years of secrecy.

Do not wrench words of hope,

twist them back

as steel-sharp blades,

to pierce gentle flesh,

scarring

the fractured heart of love,

concealed

in a womb of secrecy

for too many years;

the time has come

when your mouth is stopped

as life blossoms forth

out of a barren ground,

and freedom grows

in the blazing sunlight

of unashamed truth.
