just a few poems of mine.

You said you`d stay

You said you loved me

you said you cared

you said you wanted best for me

You said you wanted me

You said i was beautiful

You said I was and would always be your one and only

You said hundreds upon hundreds of other things

You Lied.

You walked off

You kicked me when I went down

You spit on me when i was down

You sat and laughed while i was down

You hurt me

You never cared

You never even thought

But, hey. That's what people do right?

Here we stand now.

You want back in

You want my love again

You want to destroy me again

But I cant give that to you.

And so the story goes ...

This is how abusive relationships start. Every time you say "I forgive you", every time you say, "I know you didn't mean it", every time you let them back in ... they're hold becomes stronger and it becomes easier for them to hurt you ... and hurt you even worse.

Whatever the reason, once is once too many. Love is never cruel ... at times it might be stupid, at times it makes mistakes, but it's never cruel. Forgiveness and acceptance are part of building a healthy relationship ... but there is a clear distinction between making the wrong choices or saying the wrong words and cruelty. Mistakes are what people do ... not cruelty ...

A wonderfully thought provoking piece, and in a way, something that says "You make the right choice in walking away ... I did"

WOW!
Really got me thinking about A LOT of things
First about my dad...who promised he'd stay in my life but failed to do so. Now we wants me to forgive him for the 50000th time!

Then I thought about a boyfriend/girlfriend/crush sort of thing.
How the beginning of the relationship is all rainbows and butterflies
Then all of a sudden they leave you hanging
Dead and alone
Then they decide you were the best thing that ever happened to them
But it's too late
They want you to just drop everything else that you've rebuilt and come back to them so they can destroy it again!!

It's safe to say that this gave me a lot to think about really
But I'm not gonna go on about that!!

But I do have a bit of critique
When you said " You kicked me when I went down" and "You spit on me when I was down"
I personally would keep 1 of those lines because either way...they both kinda say the same thing in a way...GET WHAT I'M SAYING?

Oh and I don't really know if you meant "You kicked me when I went down...or when I WAS down"
But then again...it's your poem and I can't really hear how you say things in your own way

But overall I really liked this poem
It gave me chills in all the right places and I really think a lot of people could relate!
