hometown.

hometown.

A Poem by blt
"

my town, our town, no one's.

"

i love this town

but this town does not

love me

it holds me,

cradles me,

then throws me off the cliff

once it sees i am

unfit

weak

not who they want me to be

girl, what do you think you're doing

with those

scissors

look at your hair

all on the floor

ridiculous

you look like a

boy.

disgusting.

who knew a 5-year old could feel

heartache

like this

don’t do it again

girls aren’t supposed to have short hair

only boys

this town doesn’t like change

it doesn’t like me

they think i need god to fix me

what i need to be fixed is

a vial of testosterone

and a change of pronouns

will god give me that?

if i’m so evil, so

horrible, why did he

make me like this

no faith can heal the

damage on my soul,

inflicted by you

inflicted by this town

when will you love me,

accept me, encourage me

like you do with the

other boys

i love this town

but when will it love me

for me
