Girl who Walks through Fire

Girl who Walks through Fire

A Poem by Kitalia Emme
"

The invisible illnesses and the way people judge. You never know the pain and fear that someone is going through. Taking pills to make it through your day, knowing that people are judging you.

"
The girl faces the fire daily
with nothing but her smile.
She walks through crowded places
with her head held high in pride.
No one ever sees her pain,
no one knows how hard she cried.

She battles with her demons
She stands there on her own
a bitter enemy is pain
and she has no ally.
sometimes the pains so bad
she wishes she could die.

So she moves through life
One day at a time
the pain is kept at bay
but the cost is sanity
as she pushes through
to function in society.

Her head is in the clouds
her feet are on the ground
her world is spinning round
and when it stops the pain will start again
So she hides around the corner
And struggles to stay sane

Why do people judge
such cold and hateful stares
if only they would take a moment
and look into her eyes
they would see the the struggle
and would give thanks for their easy lives.
