Why do you look down on me for what I choose to believe?A Poem by BellarinaI've had several people think that my beliefs are hilarious. Why, I have yet to know. I don't force it upon anyone, yet people laugh at me. This is for all of the people who think that my beliefs are "whack" or stupid. Why do you look down on me For what I choose to believe? Why do you curse it Call it a joke? When I don't tell you What's the truth?
I believe in Christ. I believe in reincarnation. I believe that this life is a punishment For wrong doing in a different life. Is it wrong to believe something When I don't shove it upon you? I don't force my beliefs upon you And yet you still taunt me so.
Why do you look down on me For what I choose to believe? Why do you curse it Call it a joke? When I don't tell you What's the truth?
I don't force my religion down your throat So why do you curse my God? I don't tell you what to believe But why do you think my beliefs are worthless? I did nothing to deserve taunting Because I've never turned on you. I haven't tried making you believe Things that you choose not to know. You ask me why I believe Like I do. It's because I have religious faith.
Why do you look down on me For what I choose to believe? Why do you curse it Call it a joke? When I don't tell you What's the truth? © 2008 BellarinaAuthor's Note
