Theres an insecure girl acting the fool

And a happy little lad effortlessly cool

Theres a tear in her eye but a smile on her face

And theres emptiness in his mind, and his happiness in place

Hanging from his arm

Hes got his arm casual around her waist but she feels his breath on her heart

And shes just a complicated mess, about to be unfurled

 

Every angry note in his voice feels like the end of the world to her insecure brain

And every upsetting time for her doesnt make him feel the same

He shows he cares, when their alone

But when he walks away so does his love, sinking away like a stone

Who entranced him with her beauty

And shes just a tragic mystery that found a simple guy

And knew he was her prince charming

He goes through life fantastically laid back

She fears her paranoid mind will cause them to crack

When shes hot hes cold
