Pondering the Devil

Pondering, the ever weary works of the devil

Sent straight from the pits of hell

I’m left to sit here and ponder.


How I wish I could walk away

Leave it all, leave you behind

And have nothing left standing in my way.


Pondering, the cruel joke played by the devil

How I wish, how I wished hopelessly

The playing field would be leveled.


Time is what they say I need

Time has taken it’s toll

It has made me bleed.


Pondering away the remainder of the day

The devil laughs in vain

Because today I’m not going to ponder your residual pain.


Pondering away the Satan in my heart

Laughing away the devil

As I do my part.


How did I ever let you so far in?

When did I let myself believe

I would end only for you to begin?
