WelcomingA Poem by Kaitlynn
She stood outside in the rain, welcoming.
Her father came, his arms outstretched, hoping. They looked up at the dark grey clouds, praying. One for the darkness to engulf him whole, The other for the sun against her skin. The taxi came, the daughter ran, hoping. He cried as his daughter left, forever. With bright eyes and flowing hair, smiling, She had done it, gained her freedom, flying. Her laughs echoed all around, welcoming. © 2016 Kaitlynn |
