botttle(less) message

botttle(less) message

A Poem by Kenny L. Mitchell

"bottle(less) message"

staring siletly

at the silicon

messenger

my heart

yearns

for the

reflection

of you

a fantastic

ilusion

built upon

myiopic

(micro)circuitry

and decadent

delusions

e-mailed

machocistic

memories

feed into the

sycophantic

id

the imagination

vs the reality

is never

a contest

waged

in cyberspace

the vast

inconsequenial

lines

place

vapid

chills

along my

silicone

spine

the tiny

space

between

zero and one

beseeches

my eye

and taxes

a high

toll upon

my fervent

desires

lead me

not into

temptation

the solace

of reality

is only

a (mouse)

click

away

a longing for cybersex?? just kidding. :]
I liked the Christian reference: "lead me not into temptation." The words were concise and very intriguing. It seems like technology is interfering with personal connections. I dislike how impersonal communication has become. :
