Caution

poem based on the photo

"Shhh...Follow the leader,

don't you speak your mind.

Don't research or look into,

we haven't got the time.

 

&&Don't you even think about

having your own point of view,

follow the leader,

that's all you can really do.

 

I caution you from thinking,

from abstract ideals,

stick to the concrete,

not the way that you feel.

 

Shhh...or they'll hear you

and put you underground:

the peg that sticks up

will be hammered down."

I like the purpose of this poem. I try to tell people. Be informed. Know what is really happening. When you follow the leader. Some leaders have self goals and will lead you to the cliff. Great poetry made your point loud and clear. Thank you for the outstanding poem.

This is one of my favorites that I've read of what you've written. It really describes how people are in today's society. Hardly anyone ever does what they think is right or forms their own opinion about different topics. They just stick with the first thing they hear even if it is not right. I really enjoyed it (:

Exactly how mind control works, they place the normal ones in prison accusing them of insanity while the truly insane ones continue on their controlled lives. I love it. Your ending made me shiver, but plastered my face with the smirk of a cynic.
