Lovestruck Daydreamer

I listen to your music
and it takes me to another place
where I'm lying in your arms,
your chest rising against my face.

I day dream of future days
when I'm finally with you,
days when I can see you often
and not for an hour or two.

I imagine walking Venice,
hand-in-hand, down the beach,
your arms around my waist
knowing you'll protect me.

I wish for endless days
when I can just lie and be.
Surround myself with your love
and swim in your seas.

I conjure up amazing images
of you and I traveling the world.
Just my amazing man
and his lucky little girl.

This list could go on forever,
the things I wish for and see,
but then I open my eyes
and in my room it's only me.

Those good dreams may not come true. But they are set-up for the real one's when they appear. I like the desire and dreams in the poem. Was a sad ending. As long as we have hope and chance. Life can be okay. Thank you for the outstanding poem.

This is pretty solid. I don't normally criticize syllable counts, but I feel like the ebb and flow you are presenting here would have more impact with more consistent meter. Aside from that, I definitely felt the splash in the final stanza, as anyone who's had a long-distance relationship would.
