“New.” Time for renewal. Time to find the things that have been missing. Time to forgive ourselves, the hardest people in the world to forgive.
Time to slow down, or to speed up if we’ve been slow. Time to realize we can try the same old things in new ways. Time to take stock, to be grateful for true friends, the ones who “just sort of get us” without our even trying to be understood. The people whom we spend time with without doing anything with our hair. Those who love our imperfections. Those who need our imperfections. Those who thrive around our imperfections!
A New Year. Time to remember the people we once knew a lifetime ago. Time to remember the things they did to help us, to remember how they reached out to us and loved us—how they helped us to find our way.
Welcome, New Year. I honor you. I have gifts for you. Take me to your next iteration. See you in 365 more days! . . .
