fire alarm

fire alarm

A Poem by knightcall

in this condition
my head is not spinning
but full of ricochets
late night ruminations
did i offend my friend
stretching our relationship a little too far
another lays up in the hospital
and i should know better than retreating into my own head
but i've got no other place to go
my body tells me to
go to sleep
go to sleep
i sit in wonder
wondering all the worst scenarios
i bleed into my dreams
not wanting to sleep
there's no escape in that
there is
               no escape

Usually, the only way to deal with the problem (as much as it sucks) is to face it head and ask, "What do you want from me? What did you come here to do? Bring? Be?"

this is outstanding. One of my favorites.

There is no escape...
Very well penned my friend.

I am surprised as to why this has not received any comments. It has a superior touch that reflects a talented poet's struggles, at least that is how I took it.
