The Mirror TalksA Poem by Knij NagiliA mirthless smile That is anything but happiness More often of anger and deviance And rarely, of sadness A boisterous laugh Isn’t what it seems to be It’s more like a cry of anguish Of pain and misery A heart of stone Behind alluring eyes And to the world she feels Nothing but contempt and despise Then if she is Capable of extreme emotions Why do I ramble on With these biased notions? To tell you the truth From her grasp, I am free Because she and I are one It’s the mirror looking back at me
