Chapter 5A Chapter by kolorkrazyWhat's happened to Amber, what did they do to Rikki? found out here :]
I heard muffled words from the other room. Next thing I know, I felt my hands being tied behind my back and my feet tied together. A single warm tear fall from beneath the cloth that covered my eyes. I could stand up but that wouldn’t so any good I would just fall over or worse. I heard coughs and little movement, someone was guarding. Which frankly I didn’t care. I had no idea how long it had been but my back started to hurt. I shifted slightly and heard someone coming at me. I felt a fast hard jab in my stomach. “Ow.” Another Jab. I took the pain and did nothing after that.
“I think we’re ready.” Mark had come back, ready for what I do not know. I was afraid but tried not to show it.
“Should we take off the blindfold?” I had been listening carefully and had guess by the way people talked to Mark he was the leader. Or a under study of the real leader.
“No, no if anything should happen we don’t want her to see us.” I sat with my head down, pretending not to care what they said. I felt a sharp tug on my hair forcing my head up. I was careful not to make a sound but a grunt still came out. “Hi, I am going to ask you a few questions it would be in your best interest to cooperate.” I put my head to the side saying nothing. “Are you Monroe’s daughter?” I just sat there and took a deep exhale. “I am going to ask you one more time. Are you, or are you not Monroe Woods daughter.”
“Why do you care?” A snicker came from me, and a sharp hit across my face. A sting was left behind I wanted to rub it but I was reminded of my hands tied together.
“Fine, if you don’t answer that we’ll move on. Is Monroe planning to sabotage the diamond trade?”
“I don’t know.” I gritted my teeth together trying not to yell. Another hit, I felt a warm trickle come from my nose. No pain, I hoped it wasn’t broken.
“Do you want this to keep going? Now tell me is he going to stop it or not!” Mark was yelling rate in my face. He hit me across the face again the blood continued. “She’s not giving me any answers take her away.” Someone picked me and was now walking somewhere.
“Open it up.” A gruff voice came from the man holding me over his shoulder. Something slid open and I was thrown down.
“Didn’t go well?” A chuckle came from someone else.
“No, I guess he’s going to try tomorrow.” The voices stopped and something slid shut. I could tell a light flickered on from the faint glow through my blind fold.
“O my goodness, Amber are you okay?” I could Rikki hurry to where I was. I was somewhat glad he was still here with me. I was also sad that he had to go through this. He pulled the blind fold from my face. I was happy to see his face unchanged. He then untied my hands and feet. I hugged him so tight I thought he could breathe anymore.
“Are you okay?” I looked into eyes, I hugged him again.
“I’m fine; they didn’t do anything to me. Are you okay?” He looked worried for me. “What in the heck did they do to you?” He wiped the blood still trickling from my nose.
“They asked me some questions.”
“Well it sure doesn’t look like it.”
“You are going to have to learn, if mobs don’t get their answers they try to get it out of you. I am surprised they haven’t killed me yet.” I truly was unless they had the idea that they could put me out for ransom. The though gave me a shiver, I don’t think my dad would ever give them what they wanted. He barley even knew I was even alive. My dad always ignored me when he was home for the few short moments I saw him.
“Well I hope that doesn’t happen.” He wrapped his arms around me and hugged me tight.
“What if they ask you?” I was worried for him and me.
“I have a plan. I was thinking while you were gone.”
“How long was I gone?” I had lost track of time altogether really.
“Probably a few hours.”
“We need to get out.” I wanted to get Rikki out and I wanted to get out. Get away, go to the Smoke Houses.
“Let’s see how things go.” I knew that wouldn’t be a good thing, but I didn’t want to do it on my own. Hopefully everything would go okay. Before the night was over I went over to the whole we had made earlier to see what was happening. I saw Mark and someone else.
“She won’t cooperate, I know she won’t.” He looked stressed and unhappy with me or himself.
“Ransom?” The other guy I recognized as the guy carrying me earlier.
“Monroe? Never, I think he thinks she’s dead anyway.” My heart sank, heavy. I didn’t think it would affect me so bad, but it did.
“Then what?”
“Leave them for dead, let them suffer. I want her to know that you never mess with me. Take a picture send it to Monroe.” Mark got up and stormed through the door. In the morning I found myself tied to Rikki. Our hand ties behind our backs. My feet bound again. My vision blackened, a blindfold hid everything.
“Sorry.” I regretted not telling Rikki this would happen, but it was better not telling him.
“For what?”
“Not telling you this would happen. I knew.”
“It’s fine let’s just get out of here, I don’t want them to change their mind.”
