Chapter 6A Chapter by kolorkrazy
I felt the cloth start to unravel from my eyes. When it brushed my lips I thought someone was there. I realized I could pull it down with my teeth. I slowly started to put the end of the blind fold into my mouth pulling it down inch by inch. When it gave way I saw an unknown area. I noticed my backpack resting nearby.
“What kind of mob leaves me my backpack?”
“What?” I hadn’t realized I said that aloud.
“Sorry, I just saw it.”
“How?”
“I got my blind fold off.” I tried to reach my backpack with my foot, hoping maybe I could get to my knife. “Dang it.” I then realized my ankles where tied tightly together. No way could I get to it.
“What? How?”
“Never mind that, how tied back are your hands?” I wanted to get out of here, just as bad if not more than Rikki. My sister had tied me up before somewhat like this. She scared me to death, not wanting to babysit me while her friends were over. I had fears she was going to leave me in the closet forever.
“Not very well, I can reach your ties.”
“Can u try to loosen up my ties; I will try to get my feet untangled.” As Rikki and I both worked on untying me. I heard crackling nearby. “What’s that?”
“Be very still, I think it might me them checking on us.” He stopped working on my hands, I bent my head down really low trying to make it appear as if I was till blindfolded.
“Think they’re still there?”
“They can’t get out, their helpless teens. They know nothing.” Chuckles rolled through the air. “Why are we coming back again?”
“Ah, I forgot to take the picture.” My heart raced thinking they might pull my head up. They came around to me. One of them yanked my hair back, tears formed in my eyes. “Dummy, you yanked the blindfold down.”
“Makes a pretty good picture though.” He pushed the hair from my eyes and set me head back. “Take the picture so we can go.” The guy with the camera snapped two pictures. The other one tightened my blindfold, and pulled the rope around me feet to almost an unbearable tightness.
“It’s good let’s go.”
“I want to tighten the hand thing; I wanna make sure they suffer. Like the boss said. Whoever tied them up did a sucky job.” My heart pumped faster.
“Its fine, we need to get back.” As his hand got ready to push me down, he got up. When I thought he was going to leave, he pushed me over so I was now lying on my side. A laugh came from him, he enjoyed seeing me suffer. “LET’S GO!” The other one was getting angry.
“I’m coming, I’m coming.” The other one ran to catch up.
“Amber, are you okay?” His voice did not sound good. It sounded scared. Not pain like my voice had.
“Fine, just a little head dizzy.”
“Can you sit back up?” I tried to get myself up. No use my legs were under too much pressure.
“No, they tightened my legs together, I can’t move.”
“Maybe I can fall over, so I can untie your hands.” I felt wind blow past me as Rikki fell. “I kicked of my legs, can you untie me?” I fiddled with the rope that tied him. I managed to loosen them, but my hands wouldn’t move any further.
“I can’t get it any further.”
“Its fine, I think I can get my hands loose.” I felt him get up, he was so free. I felt sad and now alone, but I knew that feeling would be gone soon. Next thing I knew I was being sat up. Rikki must have got his hands untied. After he untied me hands, he started on my feet. I pulled of my blind fold. “Are you okay?”
“Yea, fine why?” he lifted up my jean pant.
“You’re bleeding.” I looked down a small trickle of blood formed where the rope started to cut into my bare skin.
“He tightened my ropes, I guess he really hates my dad.” Rikki helped me up. I grabbed my backpack and swung it on my back. “Let’s get out of here, before they find out were gone.” We hurried out of the area. We both started to run until we felt we were far enough away.
“How do we know which way to go, we need to head north. The sun is at high noon. The moss is barley visable.” I was stuped. I remembered my compass I through my pack down and started to look for it. “What are you looking for now?” Rikki couldn’t believe how often I looked into my backpack.
“Found it.” I reached in and pulled out the smooth golden compass. I smiled a big smile seeing true hope. Rikki was speechless. “Come on let’s go.” I swooped up my backpack and set off north.
“A backpack has never come in so handy.” I smiled.
“Well I still owe you.”
“For what?” I smiled we walked north keep going.
“You’ve untied me twice now, saving me.” we both smiled and kept going. Until I heard cracking twigs nearby. We both froze.
