About a girl who turns to diobeying parents and ends up in a twisted situation

“Hey, want to go four-wheeling this weekend?” Rikki asked while passing Annika in the school hallway.
“Yeah, sounds like fun.” I didn’t show it but I was really excited. I couldn’t wait for the day to end. I walked as fast as I could home. It didn’t occur to me that Regina and Markus might say no. When I got home I crept through the door hoping no to be noticed I couldn’t put one step on the stair.
“Hi sweetie how was school?” Regina, making something in the kitchen shouted to me.
“Fine Regina, just fine.” I moaned while walking in to the kitchen and sat down on the front chair.
“Why won’t you call me mom?” She placed a hand on her hip and spun around to face me. I rolled my eyes; it was appalling on how often she pushed this.
“You're not my mom.” I got up to go upstairs and call Rikki.
“When are you going to tell me?” I stopped very confused.
            “What?”
“When were you going to tell me you’re planning on going four- wheeling?” I turned to face Regina.
“I was later, why can’t you just trust me.”
            “Well you can’t go.”
            “Why?” I practically screamed.
“You just can’t.” She was avoiding me staring into the bowl of dough.
“I am going unless you have a real reason.” I was clenching my backpack turning my knuckles white.
“I am your mother you are going to listen to me.”
“You are not my mother!” I screamed running up the stairs my emerald green eyes glimmered with the tears that filled them. I slammed my door hard. The tan skin unmoved as I threw my backpack down. My blonde hair stuck to my head as I lay face down in my bed. After awhile I called Rikki letting him know I would meet him at his house the next day. “Hi Regina, Markus.”
“Hi dear.” Markus said behind his afternoon paper.
“Good, Annika you’re down for dinner. Markus Dinner.” I sat down quietly. I said nothing and quickly ate the meal.
“Goodnight.” I cleared my plate, anxiously walking towards the door.
            “Bed already?” Markus asked.
“Yeah, long day.” I walked quietly up the stairs. The next morning I woke up early so I could get out while not disturbing Regina and Markus. I quietly crept down the stairs and opened the door so only a faint click was heard. I ran toward Rikki’s house just until I couldn’t see my house anymore.
I could see his house just ahead. I started walking up his driveway trying to warm my pink cheeks. I saw his girlfriend’s expensive little car parked. I rang the doorbell and waited. The door clicked open and Rikki was standing there.
“So your girlfriends coming along.” I murmured while stepping in.
“Yeah.” I looked into his blue eyes and the shaggy brown hair that encased them. “O, here she is.” I looked over to see her perky blonde hair, and the make-up caked around her hazel eyes. I hated everything about her down to the way she walked.
“So, when are we going to leave?” I asked my arms crossed.
“Rate now.” After about an hour driving we reached a pine forest.
            “New spot?”
“Yeah, my dad found it.” We talked about it, only to find out it was barely marked. The four-wheelers were off the trailer. “Follow Crissy and I.” Crissy held Rikki’s back tightly. I sped my four-wheeler to a slow crawl behind his.
I noticed myriad tall dry pines with small dried up flowers at their base. It was eminent on how dry it was. As I was looking around I noticed the markers were no longer there.
I slowed behind Rikki’s stopped four-wheeler. Crissy was attempting to drive. “Rikki the markers are gone.”
“Don’t worry about it we’re going to turn around soon.” Crissy drove forward I followed. After about another hour I looked away as time slowed and all was silent. I heard metal clank together. Wind blew by me as I was ripped from my fallen four-wheeler. The beating sun shone through the smoke that was rising, the birds stopped chirping. Pine needles fell from the unshaken tree. I rolled over hearing Rikki’s worried voice. “No, no, no.” I took deep breaths before I climbed to my feet, to see what Rikki was talking about.
I then saw Rikki hunched over Crissy who was motionless. Rikki was shaking her by the shoulders. “Stop.” I pushed his shaking hand from her lifeless body. Markus had insisted I take CPR lessons, I was glad I actually listened. I checked her pulse and her breathing.
“Well.” I looked over seeing Rikki was still shaking.
“She will be fine; I think she just got knocked out when she fell from the four-wheeler.” I left Rikki to check my cell phone. No signal. I walked around trying to gain one. Still nothing. I looked over to see Crissy sitting up talking to Rikki. I walked over. “Well I have no signal.” I slid the phone back into my pocket.
“What should we do next?” Rikki asked.
“I have no clue. Rikki you’re the one who was a boy scout.”
“Um, well, I guess we should start a fire. Yeah, a fire.” I started gathering sticks and dried pine needles. Minnesota hadn’t got a whole lot of rain so everything was dry. “Crissy can you help?” I heard her fall.
“Ow, Ow.” Crissy clenched her ankle as she sat on the ground. It was probable she was faking. She was ruthless about doing no work. “I think I sprained my ankle.” I sneered seeing how she made everything seem like it was epidemic outbreak.
“Well just sit down then.” Rikki turned and continued gathering. We finished and had made a fairly large pile.
“How do we do this?”
“Um, I don’t know.” We had tried for at least an hour maybe more. “I’ll go check the four-wheelers maybe there’s something in there that can help.
“So Annika can’t start a little fire.” Crissy chuckled and sneered. I wanted to punch her but I tried to keep calm
“Found a match.” Rikki cam walking over looking proud. I grasped the match and worked for another hour trying to start a fire. I stood up and gave the match to Rikki and walked away. “Don’t you want to start a fire?”
“No, I don’t care.” I cooled off and looked around the air was dry and dark was about to set. I sat for awhile closing my eyes realizing how nice it was not to hear Regina yelling at me. . Instead I heard crocking toads in the distance, a picturesque moment.
“I got a fire started, it took me a longtime. I really could’ve used your help.” Rikki sat down next to me.
“Crissy could’ve helped.” I looked over at him.
“Crissy can’t do anything for herself. I knew she was intentional about doing nothing, so she faked her sprained ankle.” I couldn’t believe he knew and did nothing about it. “We should get some logs; meet you at the fire in 15.” I walked around looking for logs. My stomach rumbled I hadn’t eaten since yesterday. “Find anything?”
“Yeah, not much though.” I dumped my pile by his. I laid down away from the fire. “Night.” I hear Crissy and Rikki talking. A tear fell from my eye and realized how much my new parents cared for me; I missed them, nagging and all. I fell asleep, I woke to heat. I saw the fire almost begining contagious consuming three after tree that it touched. “Rikki, Crissy get up!” I woke them to show them what had happened. We started running but the fire was spreading in almost every direction. We ran faster and faster. I heard fire truck sirens ahead. The fire was almost getting right behind us when we reached the fire truck safely.
I don’t remember much from the rest of the night. I passed out from the fires heat and smoke. I woke up in the hospital. Regina was sitting down biting her nails, staring at the floor. Regina shot her head up, hearing me. “How are you? Should I call a nurse? Are you hungry?” Regina was up at my side alarmed.
“I’m fine.” I hugged her tightly. “I am so sorry. I will never disobey you, I am so sorry.”
“It’s okay dear.” Regina warily smiled while placing my hair behind my ear.  I was baffled she was so calm.
Regina, Markus and I talked for hours. I checked out with a few burns and minor dehydration. I found out Crissy and Rikki broke up. I also realized how much my parents loved me and how much I needed them. The whole experience changed me for the better.
