Rhymes with Pain

Rhymes with Pain

A Poem by Courtney

Liberation sought with liquid,

a drop to clear my mind.

An attempted illusion of indifference

That is seen through every time.

Your lenses pierce my careful construction,

The only existing pair,

The reason for my persistent perusal,

The face-first failures I’m unable to bear.

Been chasing my tail for over a year,

Passion heightens with every spin.

But the faster and faster I turn,

I find the dizzier I am.

Perhaps patience is the answer.

Someday the unattainable will be gained.

Tear-stained poetry will be done,

No more lamentable pain.
