Evacuation

Evacuation

A Poem by Courtney

Home is where the heart is,

so where is mine?

From afar, a warm cozy house,

but up close, a land mine.

Home is where you run to,

so where will I go?

A temporary escape from looming dread,

yet my spirits stay low.

Forced to live this nomadic life -

never once been homeward bound.

Home is what you make it,

yet there's no solid ground.

Dang this piece packs a punch... they say home is where the heart is but what if the place your heart wants to be is gone... very nicely expressed.

Wow, this is brilliant. My favorite line is; "home is where the heart is, so where is mine?"
