GrowingA Poem by Maxine
Dark earth,
A seed poked deep. Tucked underneath, quietly asleep. A warm body, nurturing a seed. Growing and changing, hungry with need the first taste of water, the shell cracks creeping tendrils seeking water it lacks recognizable shape, teasing out fed with love, though far from stout. A peek of green, unfurling leaves. a taste of sun a thirst relieved. Pulled into light, deep inhale, alive and safe, although frail.
