Save Me From Myself

Save Me From Myself

A Poem by Marissa

Lines wind about the core,

Flowing, stretching, breaking restraints.

I am left feeling bruised and sore,

The spirit within me nearly faints.

Waves lap over the edge,

Threatening greater force.

Unbound by gravity, nothing to hedge.

The smooth elasticity grows coarse.

Bleak and broken,

Fading among lonely stars,

An almost friendly token.

When pain throbs from these scars.

The arcs continue to fight free,

Someone come and save me.

Wrap your arms around,

Make my heart pound.

Who will contain me?

Who can quell these waves?

They thrash about everywhere I see.

This is me, whom one man can save.

Flattery is empty, a smile too easy,

Give me yourself, my knight, to save me.

Even when I grow cruel and make you queasy.

Keep me close and let the waves calm,

In the peace that lies in you, your song.

Oh I love this piece...the cry out for sanity. For that confidant to always be there for you when you need them. I struggle with myself all of the time. and I always make my closest friend promise never to leave my side...even if it seems as if I'm pushing them away. Is a stage...and you've done such a good job painting the picture and situation.

lattery is empty, a smile too easy,
Give me yourself, my knight, to save me.
Even when I grow cruel and make you queasy.
Keep me close and let the waves calm,
In the peace that lies in you, your song.

I Love that part of the poem...so powerful!!! Very moving.
