Vedic Astrology is also known as Jyotish is Vedic astrology (called “Jyotish”, or the science of light) It was not experimentally contrived, but rather perceived through enlightened vision by the ancient sage ‘Parasara’, who is considered the original author of the Vedic texts. 

The word ‘Jyotish’ comes from the Sanskrit language. "Jyoti" meaning light, "ish" the prefix of the Sanskrit word ‘Ishwar’ or God means ‘made of’, so Jyotish mean "Made of Light", "The Light of God" or in other words "The study of Light."

 ‘Jyotish’ has three parts.

1 ‘Sidhanta’

2 ‘Samista’

3 ‘Hora’
