Goodbye

I started cautious by my broken heart,

Thinking that no one would ever care.

I thought it was bad from the start,

Yet, you offer me a chance truly rare.

 

I let my own trust in the hands of thee,

Reading your letters, I was never blue.

However, did you forget me?

It feels like that much is surely true.

 

Even so, I will still forever wait,

Perhaps even to my own final day.

Though towards you, I will never hate,

I do not think I shall be able to stay.

 

Though it was fun and I did truly try,

It saddens me that I must say goodbye.
