Chapter 1A Chapter by ElisabethThe first chapter of Bullet Proof
"Jaron where are we going?" Elle asked as she placed her helmet on her dark head.
"It's a surprise Love" He smiled at her in his wolfish way as they sat on the motorcycle , Jaron as usual was not wearing a helmet. He assured Elle he did not need one but always made her wear it was just one of his many silly actions and convictions that she got sick of asking him about and just let him alone about. "Come on tell me" She pushed as she wrapped her arms around his firm waist. Her dark hair fell about her shoulders and her dark eyes were soon covered in sunglasses. "Nope" He started the bike and they roared off. The two had met in Toronto, she was just sitting in a coffee shop when he entered. In this shop she had stuck out like a sore thumb. Elle was from the Philippines and although Toronto was a very multicultural place this part was filled with Caucasian men. He made a bee line for her and now almost a year later the two were inseparable. Unfortunately given the odd hours of her schooling and his work they hardly saw each other during the day but spent from 4:30 on together almost every evening. When they were dating six months they began to share an apartment. It was a little quick but she just trusted him. The ride was not too unbearably long before he stopped. "We are in the middle of no where Jaron" She commented as she took her helmet off. "I know" he grinned and in one of his trademark quick movements he had her in his arms bridal style. "Jaron what are you up to" "Well I need this to be a surprise and this way I can make sure you keep your eyes closed" He explained as he began to walk carrying her thin frame with next to no effort. "You know I do not like surprises very much Jaron" She pouted as she closed her eyes. "Liar, Elle you love surprises" He pointed out, and she snuggled into his chest pushing her face against it to keep from opening her eyes the faint beat of his heart and his scent making her feel almost sleepy. He was not wearing cologne, he never did but some how he always managed to smell like a fire, yes, a fire a nice healthy camp fire. After about five minutes he announced that they were at their destination and he set her down. "Can I open my eyes yet?" She asked as she tried to figure out where they were. "Not yet" She heard him move about and heard a lighter go "Now" She opened her eyes and gasped she was on a black blanket beside a small pool with a waterfall quietly pouring into it, the water streaming down a stair like set of rocks making it almost silent. The sun was just setting and they were surrounded my trees everything was slightly green except the lit black candle . There were two glasses filled with wine, his with red and hers with white. No food as they had eaten at a restaurant. "Oh Jaron this is beautiful" She wished she had her camera with her to take a picture of this beautiful scene laid out before her. He even remembered that she did not like red white. "I try" He smiled the light was quickly fading as he sat the two illuminated by the candle. She sipped her wine and he sipped his. "Jaron what brought this on?" She asked wondering if maybe she forgot their anniversary. He emptied his glass and she slowly sipped hers. "Jaron! Wine is not for shooting if you wanted to do that why did you not bring vodka?" She laughed. He pushed his glass aside a few drops falling from it onto the grass, he took her glass and placed it on a rock nearby. "Jaron!" He took her small hand in one of his large cool ones. "I needed to finish it for courage" "courage for what?" She asked as a realization dawned on her. "I hate when you play blond" She just blushed and held her breath. "Elle, I have loved you since the day I met you, I have loved the way your hair is never perfect and the way your eyes snap when your angry with me, the way your hands fit with mine. The way you try to cook. Elle I love you more than anyone else. Will you marry me?" He said this all very quickly and he took out a small box which held a large emerald in it , it was clearly very old. "Oh Jaron" Tears welled up in her eyes and fell down her cheeks. "Of course I will marry you" She threw herself at him knocking him over and kissed him more passionately than she ever had before, when they finished their kiss they sat up and he placed the ring on her finger. "It was my grandmothers" He stated simply. "Its gorgeous" They began to kiss again and laid down on the blanket, her on the bottom him on top. His hands roaming her body, her hands around his neck. She did not even notice when he reached over and pinched out the candle. "Jaron" She panted arching her back so she pressed into him. "Yes my love" He planted kisses along her neck. "Right here Jaron" "what" "Jaron I want it" "Now here in the open?" He sat up "Yes, I do not care right here now please" "We can not" "Why not?" She sat up as well. "I can not explain it" "Well try" She glared at him fire spitting from her eyes. "Come with me" He stood up and reached for her hand. "No" "what?" Confusion marred his handsome face. "I said no not until you explain" "Please" His dark green eyes pleaded "Fine" She reluctantly took his hand and soon they were driving down the road on the bike. They drove for about 15 minutes before he stopped in front of a large gate. There were two tall brick walls and extremely tall pine trees. He punched in a code and a pad came out and he pricked his finger a few drops fell there was a series of beeps and the gate opened. "Jaron what the f**k... where are we?" "You'll know soon" "I want to know now!" He ignored her and they drove down a cobblestone path soon a huge house well more like a castle came into view. For once Elle was speechless. © 2010 Elisabeth |
