Danny Boy

Danny Boy

A Poem by Nina Love

Tho harsh words we often, to eachother dealt

And more often than no, twas animosity we felt,
You were kept dearly, in your own place of my heart.

Twas you I turned to, when your brother hurt me,
Twas you who taught me who I needed to be.
Twas you, Danny boy, whom I loved, as dear as family.
Tis for you my love and my sorrow run deep,
Tis memories and tears that cloud my sight,
And nothing can make it right.

In the end,
Our tears, our prayers, our need was not enough
To keep you from leaving us,
And tho I told you not,
I want you to know,
Danny boy, I loved you so.

In loving memory of Danny Taylors,
                        January 26, 2008.

I'm amazed you wrote something so beautiful so quickly after your loss. What strength! I admire you for being so honest, and for not allowing this tragedy to keep you from writing with such grace. Thanks for your journey...it means a lot.
