When love is lost

This poem is about grieving the love of someone you had and lost but not necessarily to death.

I am searching for the love you once had for me,

Grieving the truth that you love me,

But you’re no longer in love with me.

I long for the days when your love made you feel

Like the king of the world,

When we were young and untouched by the weight of the world.

Sometimes, I catch a fleeting glimpse in your eyes,

A look that stirs something deep within me.

In that moment, my heart wants to melt,

Clinging to the hope that love still lingers.

So, I continue to pray that one day

You’ll look at me with love in your heart once more.

In the meantime, I will remain by your side,

For there is no place I’d rather be than with you.
