How?A Poem by Tai RyensWhy do I run from demons, when they're inside me?
How?
Have you no existence? damn bygones that trace my very footprints, of which sweat dribbled off my brow and puddled into; blending with blood
my aching limbs beg for mercy, plead for rest and reluctance to escape from demons who've long stopped stalking, yet convinced that if dare I glance backwards, would they stand with merely a grin?
and so I saunter; as my liver begs for liquid and my wrenched innards claw at my stomach twisting and turning squeezed by the talons and drained of water but I still trod forward unt i l I f e l l courtesy of the devils I so often blame yet the only devil here is myself © 2012 Tai RyensAuthor's Note
