The Halo of WireA Poem by Tai RyensYour memories inflict no cringe; they beckon bloodless eyes to no avail as what once were your fingers render me breathless, (although, not in the same manner as before) . . .Your memories inflict no cringe; they beckon bloodless eyes to no avail as what once were your fingers render me breathless, (although, not in the same manner as before)
so, too, does the strangle of your halo comfort me; a delightful gift once caressed by your very fingers; dismally gravitated by reality, left to descend
and become the collar encompassing my neck, a constant, graceful reminder that I'm still yours:
a gratified puppy deriving music from the wires of your halo; strumming monotone lullabies as he replaces artery and bone with wire to become art itself, to situate himself closer to the memory of you. ~ 17 November, 2013 © 2013 Tai RyensAuthor's Note
