Running for everything and nothing all at once.
My heart racing at the beat of a single chance.
My white T reeks of sweat and prays for a breeze
as my heart slowly gives out. Please, please, please,
stop. Stop the adrenaline of my rushing blood.
It clears my veins of impurity and pain, so that
it can reach my thumping chest from that it came.
My thighs and calves straining for every ounce of energy.
My feet hit the ground with thin soles. Striking the
concrete with each and every blow, my legs finally give
as well as my body.
Sweats rolls from my dampened hair onto the street.
Splattered upon the face of the earth.
Just like me.
The muscles straining to hold my only body, now
giving out and giving in to the hardship.
Just like me.
Cold breath exists my hollow body to find a home.
Maybe someday, it will find a place where it's needed.
Unlike me.
