My mommy and me

My mommy and me

A Poem by Elaine
"

I wrote this after being able to see my mom when we hadn't been together for years.

"

Rock a bye baby

In your lap

Sitting and stirring

In my cute little cap,

Gently swaying

Two and fro

Letting me play

Watching me grow,

The wind blows strong

And knocks me down

Then my mommy comes over

And lifts me from the ground,

Loving and caring

Cute as can be

Just rocking and rocking

My mommy and me,

Together for ever

Just us two

As long as we’re together

I’ll never be blue,

My mommy is precious

Gentle and kind

She’ll help me through whatever

No matter the bind,

My mommy deserves everything

No matter the price

I think I’ll give my mommy a star

That would be nice,

I’ll grab a star

Right out of the sky

 Then show my mommy

She taught me to fly,

We’ll fly off together

Into the night

As long as we’re together

We’ll always have light,

Loving and caring

Cute as can be

Just rocking and rocking

My mommy and me.

Ah, I really like this, and it's simplicity. It captures perfectly the little girl feelings towards mom. Reminds me how sweet the relationship is, thank you. Well done!
