As I Lay Here

As I lay here with you I learn,
I learn what it's like to be held by someone that loves me,
Someone that has felt all of the same burdens and hurt as I have,
Someone that will listen to me when I just need a good cry,
Someone that cares.
As I lay here with you I know,
I know what it's like to love someone,
I know what it's like to have my burdens disappear for just a moment,
I know what it's like to feel free and happy;
As happy as I have been in a long time.
As I lay here with you I grow,
I grow as a person,
Both good and bad.
Good because I feel all of these new feelings,
But,
Bad because these feelings could easily break me down.
