Never Enough

Inspired by someone I know

The sun changes its orbit to revolve around you
Stars a million galaxies away shine brighter to illuminate your skin
Venus gushes over herself for giving you such grace
Fireworks when comets collide celebrating your beauty
The moon outside your window is forever full serenading you
And yet after all the universe has gifted you
you strive to perfect what is already perfect

Awesome poem with so much image. I'm reminded of a song called "can't get next to you." The subject of the song is slightly different. He can do all of these things but he can't get next to the one he wants. This to me is like a mirror image of that. So much but still wants more. Great poem.

Wow... great use of imagery to describe the scenes. Given so much already, but still strive to be more than all of that. "You strive to perfect what is already perfect" loved it xxx well done, keep it up!

good poem to explore the idea of vanity although the last line is odd and I feel the poem to be also the opposite of vanity at times, more like unappreciated beauty but very good.
