“I will be fine” I say
not believing it for a second
you give me ‘that look’
I should have known you would hear the lie

You slowly roll up my sleeves
and smiling sadly say you understand
I lash out, screaming that nobody does
as you roll up your sleeves..

and expose to me,
the scars that resemble our friendship;
there forever, a reminder of our past, present, and future;
