such great heightsA Poem by Laura
"I'm in love with you."
A drunkenly slurred sentence, sputtered from behind your knotted tongue left me wondering if you let it untangle itself, unfolding and adjusting allowing yourself to get used to the words as they fell from your grasp or if you wanted to reel them back in before they could creep through my skin I know I should expect less of you your bloodshot eyes,
all too familiar, pour heavily into my own Slowly, I see less remnants of you as they retreat into faded spaces of your mind leaves me questioning if I will soon sink into that crowded corner myself The words you said dripped like acid and seeped through the cracks of the wall I so desperately want to keep up. What I've done, you've done first, and many times more The walls I hide behind, you walk through and so I let you in, finally, scared and shaken, curious for the mischief you will bring © 2013 LauraReviews
