Impressions of my unmade bed
the
only remnants of our endless nights
with legs tangled up in
knots
and tongues dancing as one
Once laying together,
learning
what our bodies were for
exploring the geography of each
other
traveling inch by inch,
skin against skin.
We fit
together nearly perfectly,
like two puzzle pieces
crafted
customarily
designed specifically to be shared with one
another
You held my hand as I trembled beneath you
and
said,
“I'll love you forever.”
Words fogged by my shallow
breaths,
you cradled close to my ear as I shivered.
I felt
myself being peeled away,
layer by layer,
all of my threads
unraveling at once
until they were sewed together with yours
woven
delicately,
and laced with lust.
Months after you've
left,
your scent still stains my sheets,
and I can't seem to
tear you from the seams.
